  Also, I saw a young girl suggest there might be bedbugs by her bunk. The owner and his wife tried to remove what she saw insisting they weren't bedbugs. The girl tried to prevent them from removing the "bugs" and the owner and his wife physically grabbed the girl and wrestled her off the bunk. She asked for a refund which they granted after charging her 4€ for using a shower.

  These were the most unpleasant people I encountered on the whole Camino. I would be willing to bet that if you walked into El Palomar albergue today you would find one of them wearing a black Garmin Vivoactive watch.

  9 October 2017. While I can't prove it, I'm convinced that one of the staff (probably the wife or daughter) stole my Garmin watch. Most pilgrims had left that morning and I left my watch on the charger in the common area. That was the only place with an outlet. When I returned from the bathroom my watch was gone. Along with the charger and the outlet converter. When I tried to explain to the owner that my watch was missing he all of the sudden couldn't speak a word of English and became very busy behind the bar. The wife and daughter disappeared. I couldn't find them anywhere on the property.

  They have bedbugs. When I checked the bed I saw them immediatelly and told the staff. They started shouting at me that there is nothing and the owner of the albergue started taking them out so that noone else can see them. He also pushed me when I wanted to show to someone else the bedbugs. It was a terrible scene! The place is generally dirty and not pleasant, thats one thing but having bedbugs and behave like that is another! Shame on you Palomar!
